Although aging, the venerable Texas Instruments TI-83 remains one
of the more popular graphing calculators currently on the market. We decided this
would be a good place to offer a small series of TI-83 programs that calculus students may find useful.
All are offered free of charge, but without support. The only restriction on their use is that no false claims be made as to authorship.*
The programs included in the group are:
All of these programs are in a format
specific to Texas Instruments Graph-Link software, bearing a '.83p' extension. You
will need the appropriate software and calculator cable to install these
on your calculator after downloading them from our site. These
are available from TI and many retailers - click on the TI logo
above for more information.
Notes:
- These programs will only work on a TI-83, TI-83 Plus, or TI-83 Plus SE.
- Each program uses some of the 10 functions provided by the TI-83 for graphing/calculations. (These are designated Y1-Y0, and are
accessed by pressing the 'Y=' key on the calculator keypad.) The number used varies by program. All start by using Y0, then
progressing backwards through the functions (Y9, Y8, ...). Any user functions stored in these locations will be overwritten every
time the program is run - Beware!
- Again, you need the Graph-Link package from TI to
install the programs on your calculator.
